Long before Schiavi Ranch wrote its own chapter in the story of equestrian excellence, the land itself vibrated with history — not just in its soil or barns, but in the hearts and hoofprints of those who shaped its character. Among them stands Patricia “Trish” Gilbert, an equine icon whose influence rippled through our regional horse community and beyond.
At Schiavi Ranch, the legacy of Patricia Gilbert is woven into the very architecture and daily rhythm of our work. This farm was once a historic racehorse training ground — a place of speed, grit, and reverence for equine athleticism.
Inspired by Trish’s fearless leadership and love for horses, we’ve preserved key elements of that history as part of our identity:
- The race track, updated and maintained with care, now provides our horses with a unique way to strengthen, condition, and thrive — much like the training paths of champions past.
- Original oak wood boards from the barns, rich with the patina of decades of weather and purpose, have been repurposed throughout our ranch buildings, honoring both form and function just as they’ve always served.
The spirit of preservation at Schiavi Ranch goes beyond nostalgia; it’s a living tribute to the pioneers — like Trish — whose devotion to excellence made places like ours possible.
